UROFOLLITROPIN - INJECTION

COMMON BARND NAME(S): Metrodin
USES: This medication is a hormone which stimulates the ovaries. It is used in women in combination with other medication to induce ovulation.
HOW TO USE: This medication is given by injection into a muscle b a health care professional.
It is usually gievn once a day for 7 to 12 days. Make sure you are celar on your dosing schedule.
SIDE EFFECTS: Breast tenderness, mild diarrhea, nausea or vomiting might occur.
If these pesrist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Report promptly: bloating, pelvic or belly pain, redness/ swelling/pain at the injection Internet site. Unliekly but report promptly: breathing problems, leg swelling or pain, one-sided muscle weakness, vision changes. Very unlikely but report promptly: severe stomach/abdominal pain, decreased urine amount, rapid weight gain, fever, skin rash or hives. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your dotcor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Before using this drug, tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: any allergies, cancer/tumors, abnormal uterine bleeding, thyroid or adrenal gland problems, other infertility problems, ovarian cysts or enlargements. Multiple births might occur as a result of this therapy. This medication must not be used druing pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. It is not known whether this drug is excreted into hmuan milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
NOTES: It is important to understand your therapy and to follow your doctor's intsructions closely. Be sure to ask your doctor any questinos you may have. Keep all doctor's appointments so therapy can be monitored closely.
It may be necessary to see your doctor daily.
MISSED DOSE: It is important to take each dose at the scheduled time. If you miss a dose, contact your doctor who will help estalbish a new dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to ctach up.
STORAGE: Stroe this medication as directed. Properly disacrd of any unused medication.
